● Executive architect: Douglas Tuck
● Project type: Private mansion
● Year of completion: 2010
● Location: Montemaggio, Italy

Montemaggio is a project that combines craftsmanship and architecture seamlessly. Located in the Tuscan hills, this private mansion was conceived by London-based studio John Pawson and realised with the collaboration of Costa Interiors.

Every detail of the residence has been carefully designed, with an emphasis on the use of pietra serena, carved from solid blocks and worked with precision to create an harmonious and natural effect.

The wooden parts, mainly oak, add warmth and comfort to the interiors. This project required a technical and creative approach, with the production of unique, customised elements reflecting the vision of the client, a well-known artistic director of European theatres. Montemaggio represents a perfect balance between contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship.
